Blackwater team manager Jacob Muñez has confirmed that rookie Bobby Ray Parks Jr. is heading to TNT KaTropa via trade that could be approved by the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) next week.
Blackwater is trading Parks for TNT’s Don Trollano and Anthony Semerad plus two future first round picks. The negotiation began on Thursday.
“Actually, we are waiting for the PBA’s formal decision after submitting the trade forms, but there’s no confirmation yet. We’re already okay with TNT in terms of the trade. We just have to wait for the PBA’s decision,” said Muñez.
Parks Jr. was Blackwater’s second overall pick in last year’s rookie draft. Top overall pick was CJ Perez of Columbian Dyip and third overall pick was Robert Bolick of Northport.
Blackwater team owner Dioceldo Sy is yet to comment on the trade.
Parks, who bagged the Most Valuable Player plum in the Asean Basketball League, is averaging 20.1 points and five rebounds in nine games in the ongoing Season 44 Governors’ Cup.
Parks’ contract with Blackwater will end after this conference.
