Pacquiao will KO Thurman – Gibbons

Reigning World Boxing Association (WBA) welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao will knock out cold WBA welterweight super champion Keith Thurman in the later rounds of their July 20 match at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada predicted Sean Gibbons, the Pacman’s new right hand man.

“In the later rounds, yes at 10th round,” Gibbons told The Manila Times on Wednesday via online interview.

The 40-year-old Pacquiao holds a a 61-7-2 win-loss-draw record with 39 KO against the 30-yer old Thurman’s 29-0 61-7-2 with 39 KO.

“The Senator has been fighting for 24 years. Many have talked smack about making him disappear and many have failed. There is a reason they call Keith “One Time” Thurman because he talks nonsense and Pacquiao is an all time great,” Gibbons added.

Pacquiao is coming off an impressive unanimous decision win over Adrien Broner last January 19 in Las Vegas, his first fight in the United States since defeating American Jessie Vargas also by unanimous decision in November 2016 at the Thomas and Mack Center also in Las Vegas.

“So my feeling is one time is have his time and is very exited and come July 20 he will find out that it is him disappearing and enjoying a married life. Senator Pacquiao coming nowhere until he decides to retire. You have the All Time Great versus One Time great.”

Pacquiao said in a news conference that he’s the underdog in the fight but it inspires him tovwork harder.

“I have never been scared of a challenge. I’m so excited for this fight against an undefeated champion. He’s the kind of fighter that you can’t underestimate. His record and successes gives me more motivation to work hard,” Pacquiao told reporters during the New York’s press tour.

“I will make sure that I’m 100 percent and ready for this fight,” he added. “We’ll find out what happens on July 20, but it’s going to be exciting. I like being the underdog for this fight because that gives me more focus in training.”
