Pacman gets all-out support from family

LAS VEGAS: Pacquiao’s wife Jinkee and children Jimuel, Michael, Princess, Queenie and Israel exuded confidence the eight division champion will win his fight with fellow WBA welterweight titleholder Keith Thurman.

“Maganda ang naging training ni Manny ngayon and we, myself and the children believe he can again survive this fight,” Jinkee told this writer in an interview during Friday’s weigh-in ceremony at the MGM Grand.

“And that really is what we’ve praying for since the fight was announced last may and even when he started training,” Jinkee relayed.

“Para naman sa bayan at kay Lord inihahandog ni Manny ang labang ito. Pati kasi si Lord idinamay ni Keith Thurman sa mga pang-i-insulto niya kay Manny. Kaya tiwala kami na kakasihan uli siya ni Lord sa labang ito.”

Jimuel, the eldest of five siblings, his younger brother Michael and sisters agreed with their Mom.

“Definitely, Dad will emerge victor in his fight tomorrow,” Jimuel, who even joined his father in several training sessions at the Wild Card Gym in Los Angeles, assured.

“I saw my dad trained even during his camp in Manila up to LA and I think he’s stronger now and faster than his previous fights,” Jimuel noted.

“I joined him climb Griffith park in LA several times, joined him working the mitts with coach [Freddie] Roach at Wild Card and I felt the power of his punches,” Jimuel, said to be following Pacquiao’s footsteps, remarked

“Napaka-lakas pa rin talaga ni Daddy ngayon at napaka-bilis ng kamay niya at paa. Amazing talaga siya,” Michael, for his part, butted in.

“That’s why everyday pinagdadasal ko na manalo siya. And I believe he will,” Michael added.

Sisters Princess and Queenie, likewise expressed their trust to their father’s capability to win. “Queenie and myself and even Baby Israel naniniwalang mananalo si Dad.”

The family’s matriarch, Aleng Dionisia or “Mommy D” joined her daughter-in-law and grandchildren in their belief.

“Siyempre, mananalo si Manny. Idinadalangin naming lahat ang kanyang panalo at alam kong di kami mabibigo,” Mommyn D said.

“Lahat ng anak ko, si Isidra, si Bobby at Ruel naniniwalang mananalo si Manny. Sayang hindi mapapanood ni Bobby at Roel ang laban, umuwi na sila dahil dapat silang dumalo nsa SONA ni Pangulong Duterte,” she said.

Aling Dionesia was referring to newly-reelected Sarangani Congressman Roel and newly-elected Party List representative Bobby, himself a former fighter.
